Rowdy Rooster has quickly become our go-to spot for a satisfying, flavorful paneer tikka rice bowl! The paneer here is honestly the best I’ve had in the U.S.—tender and coated in a tandoori spice that’s absolutely scrumptious. The bowl itself is balanced beautifully with rice, fresh salad, and a delicious sauce that ties everything together. Rowdy Rooster is perfect for a quick bite, with a bright and colorful ambiance that adds to the experience. The staff is always friendly and goes out of their way to recommend the best options, which I really appreciate. And with its location conveniently right outside Penn Station, I find myself indulging here every time I have to go to Penn! I highly recommend Rowdy Rooster for anyone craving bold and delicious Indian flavors!

Best fried Chicken sandwich in the area not named Popeyes or Jollibee. Yes, this is fact, Gyna. Chicken thighs is the move. Breast is available- if you’re basic. Spice level is not crazy, insane hot. Well seasoned skin to bone, I'm actually getting a foodboner thinking about it. Medium will make you wish you got Rowdy. Rowdy will make you sweat & still bring the flavor. It’s pricier than the chains, but worth it. Plus it has a mom and pop feel that rationalizing the price for chicken, fries drink at lunch seems less unhinged. You’re pushing past 20 for sandwich, side and drink. The rice bowls are solid. 13, w/rice & greens is more filling than the sandwich only option. You will go straight to Itustown post any meal, so there’s that. Worth it, though.

Got the rice bowl with mild rub fried chicken. The chicken here is extremely crispy, the seasoning reminds me of Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The manager came out to ask us what we thought of the food, and said the fried chicken coating is a mixture of potato starch and cornstarch. Want to try other flavors next time!

5/5 Stars! I just devoured the Spicy Indian Fried Chicken Sandwich at Rowdy Rooster NYC and I'm still drooling thinking about it. The combination of crispy fried chicken, tangy slaw, and creamy cilantro sauce on a toasted brioche bun was absolute fire - I'm talking flavor explosion that will leave you wanting more.

My friend and I popped in here for a quick tea after reading good things online. I got a Strips Combo (pictured) which made for a deliciously filling meal.

I didn’t know I needed a desi style fried chicken burger till I had Rowdy Rooster one. Why have we been deprived of a good fried chicken sandwich/burger up until now beats me? They also have the same Basmati Rice Lager like their other restaurants Semma and Dhamaka and it is my favorite lager for being a non beer person. Do give masala fries a try because these aren’t your usually fries they are the potato bhajji every South Indian household makes in monsoon season.

Indian fried chicken has arrived!!! Had to try this spot especially if you’re a fried chicken lover. As you walk Inside it’s definitely a lively view to rooster extravaganza!!! It’s a like a museum for colorful roosters. I tried the mango lassi and friend chicken wings. Wings are pretty big and were not overly cooked. Go check it out if you’re in the penn station area.
